Career

When I am older I would love to either be an orthodontist or an intertier designer. The job I really want though would be the orthodontist. I think it would seem fun to work on teeth for a living. On the other hand I really think it would be fun to design the inside of houses! Either one would be really fun to have as a job, but as an orthodontist you would make more money.

Incident at Hawk's Hill

Yesterday we started reading "Incident at Hawk's Hill". I  personally like the book so far. At first when we got the book I didn't think I would like it that much. I was very skeptical at first. I think now that we've actually read some of it I'm going to really enjoy it. I hope to continue to enjoy the book as much as I liked "Percy Jackson".

Newsela & Play

I think the two pieces of writing are similar because they both debate whether they're real or fake. In the newsela is talks about fake news and what to look out for. In the play that talks about if whether or not what is happening to them is real. All the aliens and them attacking the people and earth. In conclusion, both of these writings are debatable.

"The Tempest" Theme

The theme: I think the theme of this play is forgiveness. I think the theme is forgiveness because Prospero forgives many people throughout the play. For example, Antonio and Alonso his brothers. They both did such harsh things to him and he still had it in his heart to forgive them both. That's why I think forgiveness is a possible theme for The Tempest.

"The Tempest" 10 lines

Act I, Scene 2    The island. Before PROSPERO'S cell.

Mine:
Miranda.  If you created this storm dad please make it stop. It rains so much, the water is over-flowing!  You have put me through so much suffering already. Everyone I've seen suffer, they're all so brave. No doubt about it that the ship was someone and you destroyed it. How sad and how it hurts my very own heart. All those people are dead. If I could have done anything, trust me I would've. It sunk to the bottom with so much sadness. The ship should have never been destroyed and definitely no one should've gotten hurt.

Shakespeare's:
Miranda.  If by your art, my dearest father, you have
Put the wild waters in this roar, allay them.
The sky, it seems, would pour down stinking pitch,
But that the sea, mounting to the welkin's cheek,
Dashes the fire out. O, I have suffered
With those that I saw suffer: a brave vessel,
Who had, no doubt, some noble creature in her,
Dash'd all to pieces. O, the cry did knock
Against my very own heart. Poor souls, they perish'd.
Had I been any good of power,  I would
Have sunk the sea within the earth or ere
It should the good ship so have swallow'd and
The fraughting souls within her.

"The Tempest" Part 2

So we started watching the play today. I'm still a little confused about the whole thing, but I do think that it is getting easier to understand rather then the script on paper. The one thing I'm questioning about is not being able to understand the actors while their talking. I do like the sub titles, because I could half way understand what they were saying.

"The Tempest"

The play "The Tempest" right now seems just a little boring. I only think this because it is very hard to understand at the moment, so it's not very amusing. I'm wondering if Mr. Croy will make Shakespeare interesting and fun to learn about.

I found out that Shakespeare wrote to every school in England, from the poorest to the richest school. I thought that was nice of him to do.
